Outsider
From the artist's statement:
At age five, I began drawing pictures with a sense that they were art—simple images in uncomplicated settings. Much of my visual art still exhibits that tendency. I paint a lot of faces—portraits and masks. “Contemporary folk artist” is what I call myself; some have categorized me as an “outsider” artist. That’s fine with me. I paint because I have the urge to do so. It fills an empty room in my human experience. I love it when one of my paintings does the same for someone else.
